Astrology on Nintendo DS

It’s kind of cool that astrology has reached into modern times, and can now be bought on Nintendo, the ancients will be turning in their graves, or wishing they could play (laugh) fighting for the next go. I did see snapshots of the game and it may me more for fun. I am wondering whether some astrologer’s may hate it. I think it’s good for teenagers, but then I like games. I have an astrology board game call “Star encounters” it’s only me who plays it, (remember prometheus lonliness). Well anyway the game is out tomorrow and a newspaper just rated it 0/5 because he can’t believe anyone still believes in this “dross astrology”. Closed minds I guess…

What I do want is some of the astrology talks on CD, the ones you can load on computer and listen to famous astrologer’s like Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas. I was going to get one, but I need louder speakers on my computer. I would love an astrology channel all day with lectures by Liz Greene, Donna Cunningham, and all of the astrologer’s out there. Willie Nelson

Happy Birthday Willie Nelson, he has made over 200 albums! Life hasn’t always run smoothly for him, during 1990 he faced severe financial difficulty with the IRS. Agents raiding and locking down his properties. Willie had stacked up a 32, million dollar bill, and he desperately tried to negotiate it down due to the bad financial advice he had received. (The bill was paid in 1993 and settled).

I had a look at his transits to see what was occurring astrologically for this time. Transiting Jupiter in Leo squared his natal Sun in Taurus (resources), and opposed natal Saturn in Aquarius forming a t,square involving Sun/Jupiter/Saturn. The reality (Saturn) was that his financial excesses (Jupiter) needed to be paid in full. Natally Sun in Taurus square to Saturn describes practical goals and creativity in tangible form. Willie faced some hard lessons in learning how to handle his resources. Willie had to learn how to be more self-sufficient and not rely on unsound advice which eventually cost him millions! The Sun is conjunct Venus in Taurus and square to Saturn, it can mean material and financial hardship. Transiting Saturn in Capricorn (government) was opposed his natal Pluto (power). Transiting Neptune was square to Mercury (3 degree orb). Miscommunication and not facing facts.

Sadly Nelson lost his son to suicide in 1991, it happened while transiting Chiron (wound) in Leo 12th (loss) squared his natal Sun (children). It was during the year of his Jupiter return in Virgo 2nd. Transiting Uranus and Neptune were in the 5th house (children) opposing his natal Moon in Cancer and squaring Mercury in Aries. A t,square formed involving Moon/Mercury/Uranus/Neptune. Moon-Uranus can describe emotional shocks, concerning family. Neptune, and the 12th house are related to suicide, feeling lost and confused with incredible sadness. Extremely tough years in the 90’s for Willie. He has been been married 4 times and has cheated on his wives, he has also fathered 9 children. Quite an eventful life.

Tyra Banks confronts Stalker

Tyra Banks has been fearing for her safety since 38 year old stalker Brady Green has been harassing her, and threatening employees. Tyra’s security has had to be tightened, and the way she lives has had to be changed. Green sent Tyra flowers, has written love notes, and he reportedly screamed death threats at her producer, stating he would slit his throat. Tyra has confronted him in court.

 What astrologically could be describing this tense and psychologically frightening time? Transiting Pluto in Capricorn 6th is opposed Saturn in Cancer 12th and both square to Moon in Aries on the M.C, a t,square configuration of Moon/Saturn/Pluto.

 

Sense of security (Moon) under threat (Pluto)

Moon-Pluto can describe a time of feeling (Moon) terrified (Pluto), and Tyra is going through some turbulent emotions. Pluto in 6th (threats to employees) and Saturn-opposite Pluto can describe our boundaries being violently violated, both planets have control issues. Tyra will be experiencing some frustration because she feels controlled by outside forces. Tyra’s personal life is currently being dominated (Pluto) by fear (Saturn). A difficult and tense t,square with her Moon in Aries at the focal point. All causing strain on her work (6th) and public life (10th) and having her independence (Moon in Aries) limited while she has been in hiding (12th).

Michelle Pfeiffer

Happy Birthday to Michelle Pfeiffer! She is an American Actress who has starred in films such as “Batman” and “Scarface”. Michelle also starred in one of my favourite films with Harrison Ford ”What Lies Beneath”. Michelle played Stephanie Zinone in Grease 2, a movie she might want to forget, but I don’t think it was that bad. Michelle Pfeiffer is a very likable actress, and she is the comeback queen despite earlier films not being well received.

Michelle has quite an interesting chart, she is born in the security conscious sign of Taurus, and her Sun is hidden in the 12th house sector of the chart. The 12th house lies behind our identity and public face (Asc).  The 12th house Taurean Sun describes a need to give in practical and creative ways to society, often with a 12th house planet part of the personal life is sacrificed. The Sun placed here can also be unaware of a need for recognition, because psychologically they feel unnoticed.

Michelle found it difficult to get acting jobs after her role her in “Grease 2″ was critically slaughtered by reviewers. A director having seen the movie refused to audition Michelle for the film “Scarface”, he overlooked her (Sun in 12th). However, after being auditioned she won the part, and the movie was commercially successful.

Michelle’s Sun is disposited by Venus in Pisces (exalted) in the 10th house, Venus is in hard angle to Saturn.Obviously Michelle is stunning to look at, particularly her blue eyes. I have never been an astrologer for determining  physical appearance in the natal chart, as often they are not correct. I have seen Venus-Saturn in a few charts of women who are beauty queens, and Michelle has been “Miss Orange County”. 

Michelle’s first marriage ended in divorce because of strong devotion to work, and her ex didn’t haven’t much time for love and romance. Venus-Saturn often describes a conflict between love (Venus) and duty (Saturn). Natally Saturn describes where we need to be self-sufficient and separate, Saturn rules the 10th sector of the horoscope it relates to ones career and aspirations. The love vs duty aspect is powerful in Pfeiffer’s chart because Saturn is placed in the 7th house, which is Venus’ domain, and Venus is placed in the 10th house, which is Saturn’s domain.

Michelle didn’t want to wait around for a new relationship to have children, she wanted children immediately, and she went ahead with adoption proceedings without a full time partner. Natally she has Mercury in the decisive sign of Aries placed in the 11th house of hopes and wishes, Uranus was transiting through Capricorn in 8th at this time and squared natal Mercury, Michelle would have been feeling opinionated, decisive and rebellious (Uranus).

Uranus in 8th Capricorn can upset the ”traditional” forms of joint partnership, resources and shared values (8th), and this whole period can be unsettling yet progressive. Transiting Neptune (dreams) was conjunct transiting Uranus, and the configuration forms a cardinal t.square to Jupiter in Libra (5th) the opportunity for growth and expansion comes through her relationships with her children, and generosity extended towards them. Natal  Mercury-Jupiter does tend to jump in too soon with decisions especially with Mercury placed in impulsive Aries, and she wouldn’t wait around for Mr Right!

Natally Michelle has Neptune in 5th house, and this placement often describes fostering or adopting children, out of compassion.The planet can often describe a deep longing for a child, and there is the element of sacrifice and redemption, in other circumstances children can be taken into foster care, or may be artistically gifted. The adoption occurred in the year of her Jupiter return in the 5th house (children) this can increase your chances of children. Michelle married at this time, and also got pregnant.

Jupiter returning to her natal 5th house certainly brought children and romance. Lyn Birkbeck describes this period as promising but you can have OTT experiences. I guess it can be a time when you get too much at once. Transiting Saturn was moving over her midheaven in Aquarius conjunct Chiron. This would have been stimulating her wound of unable to fit into the status qua or being an outsider, but the transit can also define her aspirations and her need to contribute to society (Aquarius).

Transits Today

A new equalities bill has been put into place today, it will force those in power (Pluto in Capricorn) to disclose the gender pay gap  in their organisation. The bill is to increase fairness and diversity and help Britain in the global economy. Age, race and gender discrimination will be under new equal laws. The new equalities bill is taking place under the conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius.

The future orientated and reforming spirit of Jupiter in Aquarius can describe strong beliefs in equality. Neptune in Aquarius is about greater openness to the differences between people. Neptune dreams of dissolving differences so that there is a greater unity between all. However, with Chiron in Aquarius it describes our collective wound, and the bitter and painful reality of social prejudice still existing no matter how many laws (Jupiter) we bring in. It is a progressive step froward,  Jupiter the planet of growth and expansion will increase awareness in  equality and fairness (Aquarius) and hopefully it will be implemented well, and bring new positive changes (Jupiter in Aquarius). The wound (Chiron) of inequality will still remain… The movements in the sky often reflect the profound truths of any given time.

Britney Spears:Timeline

Britney Spears was born on 02/12/1981 she is one of the biggest female recording artists of all time. I thought it would be interesting to explore her astrological cycles and the defining moments in her life. I will analyse her rise to fame, and split with Justin Timberlake. The whirlwind marriages, and the birth of her two boys. I will also look at the divorce, and breakdown. I will chart the rise and fall of Britney Spears to understand why our pop princess spiralled out of control. Britney has recently made a comeback and continues to be under the glare of the spotlight with her new album and tour “The Circus”.

Career Debut

Britney released her debut single “Hit me baby one more time” at the end of 1998, the single went to number 1. In January 1999 her album peaked at the top of the charts. At this time transiting Jupiter was moving through Pisces 6th approaching a square to natal Neptune in 3rd. A forced emphasis on Neptune, a great need to express her creativity, and making the journey in to the music world. Jupiter- Neptune increasing her sensitivity to the collective.

Astrologer’s often warn people to use powers of discrimination under a Jupiter-Neptune transit, or you can be excessively disillusioned when the bubble bursts. Transiting Jupiter in 6th is forming an opposition to Mars in Virgo 12th, and Britney would have lots of excess energy to bring into her creative work. Saturn in Aries would have been trine Neptune around the time she was working on her debut album. Creativity in tangible form, she would feel grounded and inspired.

Transiting Saturn also squared her natal Venus in Capricorn 4th before she hit it big, and she would have been working hard in her personal life trying to balance duty with pleasure. The transit reveals how she was feeling at the time, and too much work was probably restricting her inner personal enjoyment, something she would later try and make up for by “too much” partying. Natally she has Venus in square to Saturn; this is an ongoing theme in her life.

Transiting Uranus in Aquarius conjuncts Britney’s Moon in Aquarius 5th indicating her sudden arrival in the spotlight (5th), and changing her personal life forever.Transiting Uranus also sextiled her natal Sun in Sagittarius, this enhanced her self image with exciting changes. Transiting Neptune in Aquarius 4th squared Jupiter in Scorpio 2nd, again the Jupiter-Neptune theme is retold. Transiting Pluto conjuncts Britney’s Sun, her life was about to change…

The Break-up

I don’t know the exact date of when Britney and Justin Timberlake first got together, all I know is the date of the break up. This was to be an emotionally upsetting time for Britney spears. According to rumours at the time Miss Spears had cheated on Timberlake and he found out, consequently this is what lead to the public break-up. Justin released a song “Cry me a River” as a goodbye song to Britney while also getting his revenge. Both Britney and Justin share a Venus square Pluto aspect, when love and hate collide. The relationship was the perfect childhood romance, that ended painfully for both of them. The relationship broke up in early 2002 transiting Saturn in Gemini opposed her Sun in Sagittarius. Hard reality and separation (Saturn) with an important male figure in her life (Sun). I think Britney was not expecting the break-up, and at this time she would have been feeling depressed about her life and future.

Surprise Weddings

Britney married her childhood friend in January 2004 in Las Vegas. The wedding was subsequently annulled stating Spears lacked understanding in her actions. Transiting Uranus in Pisces 5th was trine Jupiter in Scorpio 2nd. A lucky streak (Jupiter) in gambling with romance at this time (5th). An opportunity arisen and Britney took it, against her better judgement, but we are dealing with Jupiter here and the land of opportunities.

 Natally transiting Jupiter was moving through the hidden 12th house representing the secret ceremonies taking place. Transiting Neptune was conjunct her Moon in 5th and she would have been under a hazy fog (Neptune) emotionally (Moon) in romance (5th). Alcohol consumption while out partying is probably not a good idea, as her emotional weaknesses are more acute now, and she can be extremely gullible at this time.

Romance is ruled by the 5th house and emotional involvement at this time can fall under an illusory spell (Moon-Neptune). This influence makes her extremely open to the plights of everyone around her, she can attract all kinds of hard luck stories. While still under this influence, in July 2004 she announced her engagement with Kevin Federline, only three months after meeting him. As I was saying before opportunities in romance were being offered at this time. She would have been feeling optimistic (Jupiter) and excited (Uranus) with the easy trine of Jupiter-Uranus affecting her 5th house of romance. Kevin and Britney both married in a surprise ceremony.

New Baby

After marriage she took a career break and had her first child. She gave birth to her first son on the 14th September 2005. On a side note her baby was born the same day as mine. I was in my hospital bed when I watched the news on television. Britney tried to steal the limelight from me (laughs).

Transiting Jupiter was on her natal Saturn, and this describes Britney’s hopes and optimism for the future with her child, and the reality of more responsibility. Saturn had not long entered Leo and was approaching an opposition to her natal Aquarian Moon- indicating her personal life is now filled with more responsibility. Uranus was in a 2 degree orb of squaring her natal Sun, and astrologically this can indicate a child being born; I had the same aspect (Sun conjunct Uranus). The aspects explained above would also be the synastry between Britney and Baby Sean. Britney had a second child shortly following her first, and many critics thought this placed too much strain on her emotionally and physically.

Divorce

Britney filed for divorce from Federline in November 2006 citing irreconcilable differences. She wanted legal custody of her two boys. Federline responded by fighting for sole legal custody of the children.Transiting Uranus in 6th squared her natal Sun directly at this time. The transit describes her life being disrupted (Uranus) with sudden developments and altered circumstances. The rebellion had begun she now wanted to be free from limiting circumstances, by making radical changes in her life.  

Transiting Pluto was conjunct natal Neptune, and the configuration squared her natal Mars in Virgo 12th.  Mars-Pluto often indicates sexual troubles in a marriage, aggression and fighting for control. Ego-conflicts and violent eruptions. Britney had an uncompromising desire to assert her own will, and all hell broke loose. This configuration landed on her natal Mars-Neptune which describes a poor sense of boundaries around her powers of assertion. Britney’s aunt who she was close to died in early 2007  from ovarian cancer. Transiting Neptune squared her natal Chiron in 8th indicating an extremely painful time for Britney were all her dreams of marriage were gone, and she lost a family member who she loved and valued. Emotional wounds can resurface at this time (Chiron 8th), needing to be healed.

Rebirth of Britney Spears

Britney went into a drug rehabilitation centre at this time (Neptune-Chiron) but it lasted only 24 hours. The next day she created worldwide controversy by shaving all her hair off. Transiting Pluto was aspecting all of her angles, and it describes a powerful need to transform all areas of her life. It’s not a rare thing for women to want to reinvent themselves after a break-up, but most us don’t shave all of our hair off! All I can say is she was in desperate need to transform and rid herself of the past. A snake sheds it’s skin when it has outgrown the old one, and in effect this is what Britney was doing. Shedding her old skin and awaiting the rebirth of a new woman. However her troubles were only just beginning….Throughout 2007 she received heightened publicity over her antics. Britney was ordered to take random drug testing and take classes in parenting skills.

Losing custody of her children

In January 2008 Britney refused to give up custody of her boys. Police were called, and she was taken by ambulance to be hospitalized because she appeared to be on drugs. No drugs were found in her system, but she was held for psychiatric evaluation for a few days. Later Britney was placed under her father’s care.

Transiting Chiron conjuncts her natal Moon in Aquarius 5th indicating the painful (Chiron) emotional separation from her children (Moon in 5th). Saturn was approaching a square to her natal Sun. Saturn as we have seen before can indicate a separation, and it also reflects a time where she needs to be more responsible. Learning how to be self-sufficient, and strengthening her ego. Sun-Saturn represents authority figures, and her father now had control of her life. Britney needed to re- build her self and life back up again. It is still a painful transit, but it can hold enormous rewards if she takes stock and can put her life on solid ground.

Hopefully she can keep her feet on the ground, and let the controversy die down. I guess we will all see how she copes in the long run.
