Uranus Transits

Uranus in the natal chart represents the need for self realisation, originality and represents the free will of an individual. When transiting Uranus is moving over our natal planet’s it indicates a time for us to realize our own unique individuality to break free from restrictions which may be holding us back in life. Emotionally and mentally during this time we can feel very stressed. Life is unpredictable cruel bringing sudden disruptions, movements, and changes. We can feel more rebellious at this time, and our need for freedom and space will intensify. Major shifting often occurs.

Uranus urges us towards becoming more conscious, and encourages us to use our higher mind and intuitive perceptions to do what is best for us. Uranus is the enemy of the tried and tested path, especially if this way of life is making us feel stifled and restricted.

An example of this need for awakening and awareness may enter into our relationships (Uranus transiting Venus or Uranus through the 7th house). If we have become too dependent on a partner, or we are not expressing ourselves as an individual within a partnership, it might mean the relationship is disrupted in some way. Maybe the relationship separates at this time, and the real truth of our relationship is revealed in full blown clarity. We may suddenly find ourselves in a new relationship during this transit, and experience “love at first sight”. I met my long term partner under a transit of Uranus to my natal Sun in the 7th house of relationships! With Uranus transits there is restlessness and need for change, and we may often feel this change is forced upon us.

Another example of Uranus in transit may happen in our work life. A job may end suddenly with Uranus through 10th/6th  or aspecting Mercury/Saturn/Uranus 2nd. Our material world may be disrupted, but this may ultimately in the future lead to greater freedom, and a more fulfilling job. We may even glad about the change. The events which happen under Uranus transits may still be upsetting, and we may be feeling unsettled, but this planet breaks up the monotony of life.

With Uranus transits we can sometimes feel a bit of an outsider, and feel left out of the mainstream. The more rigid we become during the whole process the more difficult the changes will be for us. We need to look at what is keeping us trapped from making the progress we need. Uranus is the planet of truth, and there may be some startling revelations at this time, so be prepared for the cold hard truth about your life, because it will be revealed in startling clarity!
